Welcome!
At Rise Kohyang Middle School (RKMS), we serve students in grades 6 through 8. We have a welcoming, family-like environment where our staff truly care about each student. Our students are supported to meet high academic expectations and to build lasting relationships with each other.
Middle school is also an important time of personal growth, and at RKMS we help our students discover who they are so they feel confident and can advocate for themselves and others. Together, in strong partnership with our families, we build a bridge between school and home, so that our students thrive.

We offer our students rigorous academic instruction, honors classes, social-emotional learning and support, grade-level counselors that support students throughout their three years, opportunities for students to enhance their education with real-life experiences beyond the classroom (our hallmark “Life Experience Lessons”), community partnerships, and community service, and more.
We’re also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our curriculum and school practices, and we continue to strengthen our practice as educators to help students build the capacity to understand what is happening in their community. Kohyang means hometown in Korean, and we’re proud of our kohyang school! We hope you’ll become a part of it.
