Gene Castro is the principal for Stella Elementary Charter Academy, and he leads the school to ensure all Lionesses achieve academic excellence and grow their unique talents so that they find joy and fulfillment in higher education, career, and life.

Previously, Gene served Bright Star Schools as Stella Elementary’s assistant principal of instruction. Under his leadership, all Stella Elementary students receive high-quality instruction and support, and a consistent and joyful learning experience.

Prior to joining Bright Star Schools, Gene served as a teacher and the dean of culture for a Los Angeles charter school. He holds a bachelor's degree in international/global studies from UC Santa Barbara and a master’s degree of education from Wilmington University.
