Harvard-Westlake Partnership
Our Partnership
Bright Star Schools works with many community partners to ensure our students have access to rich opportunities. Through our comprehensive partnership with Harvard-Westlake School, a prestigious private school in Los Angeles, our students access after-school enrichment programs, virtual tutoring, and more. See more about how Bright Star students and Harvard-Westlake students learn and grow together:
Harvard-Westlake Bridge Program
The Harvard-Westlake Bridge Program is a competitive and rigorous after-school enrichment program for exceptional Bright Star students. During the Bridge Program, selected students from Bright Star’s three middle schools (Stella Middle Charter Academy, Rise Kohyang Middle School, Valor Academy Middle School) take part in classes on the Harvard-Westlake campus, such as robotics, improv, digital music, mythology, and comic book writing and design.
Valor Academy Speech and Debate Program
Bright Star partnered with Harvard-Westlake to grow Valor Academy High School’s speech and debate program. Harvard-Westlake students work with Bright Star students on drills and practice to prepare for speech and debate tournaments.
Virtual Tutoring Services
In 2013, Harvard-Westlake and Bright Star launched a virtual math tutoring program for students at Valor Academy Middle School. Students get one-on-one attention from Harvard-Westlake students to strengthen their math skills and grow a sense of community together.
